MNA Massachusetts Nursest Association Baystate Hospitals are Our Hospitals Since Baystate Health often acts like a for-profit corporation, it's worth a reminder: Baystate is a NON-PROFIT health care organization. Hospitals like Baystate Franklin Medical Center were built with public money Our tax dollars and donations-along with nurses and other invaluable staff keep Baystate operating. When you consider supporting Baystate, please think about how our money is being spent. Public money should be funding: . High-quality patient care . Fair and respectful treatment of employees Accessible and affordable health care services Public money should NOT be funding: $1 million for replacement nurses at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, spent by Baystate instead of a fair contract for local RNs . Bullying and retaliation against nurses who join together to advocate for their patients and colleagues $7,691,623 to the top 15 Baystate executives in 2014 $2.6 million to special retirement plans for "highly compensated" executives $15.4 million in a Cayman Islands-based insurance fund Thank you.
